Walk this way

This is probably one of my favorite foot bridges here in Freiburg. It crosses over the Dreisam River in the central-south part of the city. On both sides of the bridge are main throughfares which I think is connected to the Autobahn. The direction illustrated here goes to Wiehre, the community where I live. The other side goes to the city center. I’ve been wanting to take more creative photos of this bridge but I always end up not bringing my camera when the opportunity comes!

This is another photo I took in the Münsterplatz in the same day when I shot a bird. These girls are in a compromised position in front of the cathedral. Good thing it was almost empty.

Steps

These are the steps leading to the foot of Schlossberg. Coming from Oberlinden, to the left of Schwabentor (Swabian tower) is an archway which is the entrance to these steps. Again, the ubiquity of bikes here in Freiburg is as normal as driving a car in the US. This was taken about three weeks ago on the last weekend before uni started again. Today I just finished my last day and preparing for the exam tomorrow. I need to take things step-by-step.

Alley

One of the Freiburg’s charms are its narrow alleys, usually called -gasse in German, instead of -strasse (street). This is probably the second narrowest in town, or at least near to the Münster. This particular alley opens up to a broader alley with shops, restaurants, and boutique hotels. The wall to the left belongs to Historisches Kaufhaus.

Next to tourists, pigeons have the largest population in the Münsterplatz. I took a 15-minute photo break between having my dinner of Yufka and waiting for the next tram home. Maybe this is what you call fast food photo.

I think it was a screeching noise that got the attention of these two men, including me. Further down the street is Augustinerplatz.
